Hedonic Wage Theory
Definition
Wages reflect the bundle of job characteristics — workers "pay" (in lower wages) for pleasant attributes and are "paid" (in higher wages) for unpleasant ones.
Example
Researchers use hedonic-wage models to estimate the value of a statistical life.
