Arbitrage
Definition
Profiting from a price difference for the same asset across markets — simultaneously buying low and selling high with no risk. In well-functioning markets, arbitrage forces prices to converge.
Example
If gold trades at $2000 in New York and $2010 in London, traders buy in New York and sell in London until prices equalize.
