Call Option
Definition
A contract giving the holder the right (but not obligation) to buy an asset at a set strike price before expiry. Pays off when the asset rises above the strike.
Example
Buying a $100 call when the stock is $90 — if it climbs to $130 by expiry, you profit $30 minus the premium.
