Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM)
Definition
A model relating an asset's expected return to its risk-free rate plus a market-risk premium scaled by beta. The classroom workhorse of asset pricing.
Example
If the risk-free rate is 4%, the market premium 6%, and beta 1.5: expected return = 4 + 1.5 × 6 = 13%.
