Seigniorage
Definition
Revenue from issuing currency — the difference between a coin or note's face value and its cost of production. Modern central banks earn it on their balance-sheet returns.
Example
Issuing a $100 bill that costs 15¢ to produce yields almost $100 in seigniorage.
