Comparative Advantage

Definition

Producing a good at a lower opportunity cost than someone else. Drives the case for specialization and trade — everyone gains, even if one party is better at everything in absolute terms.

Example

Country A gives up 1 car per shirt; Country B gives up 3 cars per shirt. A has a comparative advantage in shirts.
