Absolute Advantage
Definition
The ability to produce a good using fewer inputs than someone else. Unlike comparative advantage, it ignores opportunity cost — being faster or cheaper in absolute terms doesn't always mean you should specialize there.
Example
A doctor can type faster than her assistant, but she still hires the assistant — the doctor has a comparative advantage in medicine.
