Budget Constraint

Definition

The set of consumption bundles a consumer can afford given prices and income. Drawn as a straight line on a two-good graph; its slope is the price ratio.

Example

$100 to spend on $10 books or $5 coffees: you can afford 10 books, or 20 coffees, or any combination on the line between.
